Chagford is a thriving small Dartmoor town 20 miles west of Exeter in Devon.

The town is well served with pubs, cafés, restaurants and B&Bs, plus a number of hotels in the town and nearby. With banks, doctors and dentists, three churches and an eclectic range of shops the town is self-sufficient.

There were six Chagford Arts Festivals between 1997 and 2009, and Chagword - the town's first literary festival - drew on the experience gained from these.

There has been an annual Chagstock music festival since 2007, held in July, and annual Chagford Film Festival since 2011, held in September.
